| Turnips - Yummy too! Bunch of turnips 1 ½ cup water salt sugar fatback grease Cut turnips from turnip top (greens). Inspect and wash green leaves thouroughly. Put in pot with water and cook them a little then cut up turnip roots and add to the greens. Add some salt and a little sugar. When they are about done, drain off water and add fatback grease. Stir well and finish cooking (slowly). When tender, you can chop them up with a hand chopper. |
